CAMBRIDGE-BASED SERIAL TECH ENTREPRENEUR and ANGEL INVESTOR
UK Business Angel of the Year 2014/15, charity chair and trustee, mentor and non-executive director (and Dad)
As an active angel investor for ten years, I have personally invested in over 55 startups and was named UK Business Angel of the Year 2014/15.
I'm the Investment Director of the Marshall of Cambridge, Martlet Corporate Angel division, and am chair of the board of the Cambridge Business Angels. I've led many investment deals and am a non-executive director of five angel-backed technology start-ups, plus a board observer of several others.
After studying Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Cambridge, I went on to set up and run small businesses in technology and construction, and become a director of the Cambridge Computer Lab Ring and Chair of the ideaSpace Accelerator's supporters. I am also a Fellow in Entrepreneurship at the Cambridge Judge Business School and a Freeman of the City of London.
I have spec-built several domestic houses and refurbished many others, including the £1.7 million Cambridge Advice Centre.
I'm also on the advisory board of a social enterprise in criminal justice and have been voluntary chair, treasurer and trustee of numerous charities for over 15 years – the Citizens Advice service, a drug and alcohol rehabilitation charity and a private sixth form college.
I've invested in over 55 early stage companies. These are largely made up of deep product technology businesses, reflecting my skills and background.

My angel investments have passed most, if not all, of my sixteen criteria. So, please don't email for investment unless you know your proposition will be a good fit.
